Episode 18.2: ‘A trip to the zoo and Debbie’s strange brew’

Gina has left Newtown and returned to her roots in Oldtown, North East Lincolnshire. She takes in the sights and sits in her old abandoned house, but feels lonely.

Meanwhile, Candi gets to know Debbie, who has returned to town after some years. She has been living in a cave on Lyle Hill and is adept at making her own fun.

Eliza is hanging out with AJ, her only remaining friend. However, when Candi, his girlfriend (and her former girlfriend) appears, Eliza panicks and hides behind AJ’s one-hob oven. Candi becomes suspicious, but lets it drop and takes Debbie to the zoo. Debbie reciprocates Candi’s friendship with the gift of some aphrodisiac tea to spice up her relationship with AJ.
Simpkins is showing Anthony round his hotel and they form a firm and business-savvy friendship. Anthony owns a derelict housing estate in Oldtown which is scheduled for demolition later today. Outside, they come across Eliza, who has escaped AJ’s via the sewer system. The three form a business plan to fund the building of a new concert hall, but Eliza will only chip in if Simpkins and Anthony help her ruin her former lover Candi’s new relationship.
Back in Oldtown, Gina is sitting with a mug of tea in her old house, when suddenly there comes the sound of an approaching bulldozer…
Will Gina survive the demolition of her home?
Will Simpkins and Anthony agree to ruin Candi and AJ’s relationship?
How will Debbie adjust to life outside a cave?
Is it still £4.50 for a coffee at the pub?
